Safe Nursery means Safe Baby

Planning a nest for your newborn is very fun but not easy part of being a parent.
There is a few things, that new parents need to remember. Your baby's safety is very important, especially when you leave him or her alone in the bedroom for some time, for naps or night sleep.
Crib or bassinet location is so important, the center of baby's room is the safest spot.
My friend lately directed my attention to that, after she found her baby in the crib, playing with some ribbons, that were hanging on the wall next to baby's bed. I realized then, how important is to have child's bed, crib or bassinet, in the center of the room, so baby doesn't have any access to things like that. Baby's nature is to reach for things and explore, so they very often try to touch and reach what is accessible and in a reaching distance. Babies can pull easily anything down from walls, furniture, and windows. I realized how important is to keep wall hangings with ribbons or streamers out of reach of the crib or bassinet. Blind cords can strangle babies in cribs, that's the next thing, that we need to remember, when furnishing our baby's bedroom. There were many accidents like that.
It is also good to check regularly crib bars and hardware for any defects, and purchase window locks or guards.
Safety of our kids is very important, so we need to think about protection, and minimize the possibility of accidents.
Bassinets and co-sleepers are nice bed alternatives for infants up to six months of age. Because of their mobility it's easy to move them from one room to another, and so convenient for parents, to have their babies close.
